Fantasy Poker Guidelines

These are the starting guidelines. They are open to suggestion and change. Any and all submissions will be accepted and considered though not necessarily implemented. Simplicity was my goal in making these guidelines. Since the number of players in any tourney varies and a person may play better or worse in certain tourneys, I didn't consider those two factors as the variations would drive anyone insane in calculating scores. In other words, I didn't want any equations having to be used to calculate the scoring. As the number of players getting a prize is static, I chose to go w/ that as a basis for defining scores.

Qualifying Tournaments:
  1. Any daily tournament w/ a prize pool of $300 or more, any weekly, and any monthly will be included in the scoring system.
  2. A tournament's start time is what defines the month it is calculated under.
Player roster:
  1. A player roster will consist of ten (10) main players and two (2) alternates.  You are not required to use all of the spots in your roster but once the current month begins new players cannot be added.
  2. The roster will run from the first day to the last day of the current month.
  3. A roster for the following month must be submitted by midnight Eastern Time on the last day of the current month.
  4. Note: Just remember that if you don't submit new picks, your most recent lineup will be used for the next month.
Changing the roster:

  1. A roster can be changed before each tournament begins but must only consist of the original ten (10) and two (2) alternate players submitted for that month.
  2. Any roster change must be submitted as a post on the Clubspadeforum before the start of the tournament it will be used in. If not, the last standing roster will be used.
  3. The last current roster submitted will be considered standing and will apply to any and all future tournaments until any other changes are made.
Scoring:
  1. Scores will be based on a point system and the amount of cash earned by that player.
  • Cash: In the event that a prize is given rather than cash, the cash equivalent will be used instead. If a cash equivalent isn't readily available, one will be determined by the Moderators of the Clubspadeforum and submitted within seven (7) days. Tokens have no cash value.
  • Points: These are determined by a player's final place in the tournament. Only player's placing in the money ("in the money"=any prize be it points or cash/cash equivalent) will be considered for points. The first payout spot will be awarded one (1) point. Each consecutive spot will receive one (1) point more than the spot below it. In addition, making a final table will add additional points. Any daily will give 100 points, any weekly will give 250, and any monthly will give 500. The following in an example using a 5K weekly payout:
Number of spots in the money: 99
             Player exits in 87th place: Cash-$5; Points-13
Player exits in 6th place: Cash-$200; Points-344 (94 for placement + 250 for final table bonus)

For the record, I am not going to have the final say so in defining the rules. I just wanted to get something started to work with. All forum moderators will have a say in this as will the players. Decisions will be based on simplicity and fairness more than anything else...

Please do not post in this thread. I would like to keep it open only for rules changes. The last posted set of rules is what will be used currently. If you have any comments or suggestions, feel free to send me a PM. I will answer the next time I am on (usually daily).

Thanks,
xcjx

Version 1.1

Qualifying Tournaments
:
  1. Any daily tournament w/ a prize pool of $300 or more, any weekly, and any monthly will be included in the scoring system.
  2. A tournament's start time is what defines the month it is calculated under.
  3. Any permanent changes to the Spadeclub tournament schedule will automatically apply to the Fantasy League schedule.
  4. Any Specialty Prize tournaments (e.g. qualifiers for WPT Boot Camp) will be considered if a monetary value can be given to the prize in that tournament.

Player roster:
  1. A player roster will consist of ten (10) main players and two (2) alternates.  You are not required to use all of the spots in your roster but once the current month begins new players cannot be added.
  2. The roster will run from the first day to the last day of the current month.

  1. A roster can be changed before each tournament begins but must only consist of the original ten (10) and two (2) alternate players submitted for that month.
  2. Any roster change must be submitted as a post on the Clubspadeforum or a PM to me (xcardjunkiex) before the start of the tournament it will be used in. If not, the last standing roster will be used.
  3. The last current roster submitted will be considered standing and will apply to any and all future tournaments until any other changes are made.

Scoring:
  1. Scores will be based on a cash and point system. In the event that two or more participants have the same cash score(s), the points will be used as a tie breaker.

  • Cash: In the event that a prize is given rather than cash, the cash equivalent will be used instead. If a cash equivalent isn't readily available, one will be determined by the Moderators of the Clubspadeforum and submitted within seven (7) days. Tokens have no cash value.

Qualifying Tournaments

  3. All rosters must be submitted by midnight Eastern Time on the 5th day of the month.

Scoring:

  1. Scoring is not retroactive. All scoring starts from the time the current roster is submitted (e.g. a roster submitted on the 3rd of the month will not receive any scores from the tournaments held on the previous days of that month).
