As we move forward with the forum, we will need your support and perseverance.
The most important aspect of this forum is our friendships. We want our forum to continue to be able to communicate with and support each other. The community aspect is our number one priority moving forward, nothing else.
We are going to keep things very simple for a while. We need to minimize any administrative work as much as possible. We have tried various things like competitions, relationships with poker sites and further developing poker strategy, etc. But it's quite obvious that these things may be better left for other forums. Right now we just don't have the manpower or volunteers.
(Having said that, if you are willing and have certain abilities to organize any of these activities, please volunteer! With a good game plan, you will be given the necessary resources.)
As from before, there will not be many rules or restrictions, except for one. YOU MAY NOT TALK NEGATIVELY ABOUT OR MALICIOUSLY BERATE ANY FORUM MEMBER. At best, you may be given one warning, with the expectation of a public apology to the forum member and to the entire forum. If your actions are severe enough, you may be banned IMMEDIATELY.We are all of different ages and personalities, but I think we all can agree to this. On other notes, we have changed our name and will eventually change the web address. Spadeclub was a great initiator for our forum, but we've all seen that we've moved beyond just one association.
I don't want to dwell on the past, but I must add that we do not want anyone discussing past disagreements. We are now moving beyond things from the past.
Personally, I am not one to restrict much. I just hate negativity against individuals, in our forum and at the tables. We won't tolerate it here in the forum, but think before you say anything at the tables. As an example, I was pretty disappointed in a recent tournament seeing a couple people essentially make fun of one individual, not just their play (which was questionable at times), but on a personal level. No need to go into details, but just try to show some maturity when you're out their playing.
I will do my best in this role, but I fully expect to bring back more mods as soon as things settle down. (Old mods, please keep an eye on our blog) I do not have a lot of time, and honestly, I do not read everything that's posted here. My role will be to review anything that's reported to me and enforce our guidelines.
I believe that's enough for now. Please help spread the word that our forum is still alive! Maybe changing some, and hopefully continuing to grow, with your support.....and volunteering, of course!
Thanks. Pauko
