Watching a Good Player

One way you can continue to learn is watching a good player start to finish in a tournament.  I do this and every so often I will try to log their hands the best I can.  It may not be as helpful as if you are watching, but reviewing may still have some benefits.  If you ever get motivated, feel free to do the same, or just watch a player and do a review of what you observed.

Very good Hotpauko, you are called a "Poker Masterer" not just a poker player. The Pros all go through this phase. Not only should you be watching the good players but the players that are not so good.It is more then a bonus to know your fellow players. This is key to mastering your game level and taking down tourneys with more steadfast accuacy. One of the biggest key's in poker survival is knowing your opponents.

You are very right about that, HotPauko. I have spent many hours watching some of the best players at PokerStars when they go deep in tournaments (players like westmenlo, sctrojans, AJKHossier, moorman, annette_15, busto_soon, etc.). It did help my game a lot and gave me many new ideas to try out. It also improved my ability to correctly put an opponent on a range of hands and my ability to estimate my FE in various situations.

yeah thats a good strategy i suppose. but it only teaches you something about that player. every player has different strategies and therefore make different decisions.

on stars I know they had some of the bigger tourny replays with all cards exposed.  I don't know about you but there were times my brain was oatmeal and just wrist just clicked out, it is amazing how many of those I ended up watching cas I was bored and somehow ended up sitting in front of them for hours; you can learn alot from things like that.  For me anyway, final table play was escaping me til I saw a few of those.  It helped with the tachycardia, lol.
