I had a chance to chat with Benjamin Lablond a bit.  Actually a very cool guy, not afraid to speak highly of his poker mentors, unknowns to most.

I told him I was routing for Brad, but he has accomplished more than many dream of already by taking down 3 of the worlds best Heads up.

Down to earth guy and that is a quality I always respect in a great player.

ZZ has been kind enough to add a POKER ATLAS banner. I think memebers will find this HTML very usefull.

Just click to find poker rooms and events in almost any area! Unlike some of the bigger DB's they list anything they can. from small buy ins to large and the site allows players to leave their opinions on different venues and places they play.

I think every player has to come to a point in their game where they accept that the game has its improbabilities.  There is a randomness involved.

You are obviouslly there.  Behind every suck out, there is a mental justification.

You have mentioned boredom.  Restlessness, lack of hand value understanding, "Lucky hands", panic, tilt, suspision....the list goes on and on.

I personally have been able to accept it more by dropping two poker phrases.  Donkey and suck out.

Loose and Live outs.

Like believing in santa clause and the tooth fairy, they offered me comfort and happiness once.

But as I grow as a player and meet those that are succesfull at the game, most will rarelly use excuses or give a second thought to these random events.  I know I have made many wrong moves that felt right in my mind and I could probablly explain if asked.  And I will countinue to do so.

So will my opponents.

Another day, another hand.  As you said, some days it's with you some against.  Can't have one without the other.

I love horse but find razz dry.  Omaha hi low is fun, but I don't mind str8 high.  Stud is the next one I am working on improving, so my vote for second place.

I actually enjoy PLO more than holdem as far as thought goes, but I need to be in the right mood.
