Re: Basically this is for my dear friends

This is a test of the emergency life system.  This is only a test.  If life has truly failed, you would be told to seek comfort with your god.
But for now, BTF will do until 2012.devil

Caution: Full Tilt Ahead >>> RUSH POKER

This is my initial opinion of Full Tilt Rush Poker.

I have determined some disadvantages with Tilt's new "Rush Poker" ... I have tagged it ADD poker.. Poker for the Attention Deficit Disorder:
1. Position is random; therefore you don't know whether you'll be stuck in mid position and the BB on any given hand.
2. Player recognition/image... you don't quite develop an image nor would you be sure about your opponents image
3. You will be forced to play that one game ... since every fold requires your attention almost immediately... the more hands you fold quickly, the more hands you'd be able to see, improving your "rate" per hour to see a good playable hand.
4. If you're a "rock" or "solid" or "Daaaa Jenks" type player" ... you're probably at a disadvantage since you won't know whether you're opponent is bluffing or not, for the most part, and more than likely fall prey to a preflop raise when a rock or solid player will quite often fold.
5. If you are a guy who likes to show your hand whether you're bluffing or show how strong you were.. chances are, no one will review the hand even if you show it cuz the other players will be too involved getting into the next hand.
6. Forget taking notes on opponents
7. Due to the game conditions, the game becomes more luck oriented rather than skills oriented. Consequently, it's better suited also for players who have deep bankroll

Advantages:
1. If you're an aggressive player, chances are more times than not, people will fold to your aggressive preflop bet.  Although this is still not necessarily true in the micro/dime games as they will call looser in the dime games.
2. You can literally "wait" for a real good hand faster, since you could hardly get bored, you would actually fold mediocre hands fairly easily as long as you're not in the blinds, button or drunk.  Grinding has never been easier.
3. You accumulate Frequent Player Points at a massive pace.  I played a 1.67 hour session
(10c/25c stake) on the very 1st few hours of Rush's inception and "played" a whopping 650+ hands and accumulated approximately 120 Ironman FTP's not counting the double points from "Happy Hour"  I could play 2 hours in the 50c/$1 stake and never reach 100 points.
4. I have noticed that if you fold fast by clicking on "Quick Fold" button ... you can actually "play" more hands without paying the BB... Since "
the player who has gone the longest without posting will be the big blind for that hand" SEEMS to be based on time not hands played.
5. No one can ever stalk you grin
6. For an intermediate to advanced players, it's a good practice to open up your game whether to defend your blind or bluff or open raise preflop at virtually any position (though you have to have the discipline to fold if you get reraised against your mediocre hands).  With the game speed, it's quite difficult BUT if you do it as a mission, you might discover something about yourself as a poker player.

Some things to keep in mind:
1. Based on the nature of Rush Poker, it could be addictive.. more so than regular poker.  It's action packed poker.  You may even get an adrenaline RUSH.
2. You should really play at a time when your concentration is peak.
3. You should plan on buying in comfortably twice, if you bust, without taking a big bankroll hit because the bad beats happens on a fast pace, too =))
4. Howard Lederer's comment: "Rush Poker* is a great way to learn the game of poker."

I mostly disagree with Lederer since you don't learn anything about your opponent and don't see quite the situation unfold UNLESS you are willing to put the time in to review hands and learn from your mistakes.  You don't have time to let it sink in.  You cannot take much of Rush's experience to regular poker. Rush also does not teach you much about patience in true poker meaning.  Although you can learn how to "wait" for better hands and better situations, in my opinion it is better to do that playing regular poker.  If you're just beginning to learn the game, you may find yourself broke if you don't have the basic ideas of good poker.. that is, the weight of the starting hands, the value of position, betting strategies and the discipline to fold a good but losing hand.

I'm sure I could add more after I have had more time to play and reflect but I just wanted to share these with you, just in case that you want to have a RUSH to play poker.

PS: Just in case you are curious, I am profitable on my 1st day of play but it took some guts to buy in twice more ($10 each) so I could recover from a bad beat or two. . . By defending my big blind, I drew a flop that brought me to profitability:
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to 69erman [5d 6d]
ImJustFaking raises to $0.85
69erman calls $0.60
*** FLOP *** [5h 3s 5c]
69erman checks
ImJustFaking bets $1.80
69erman raises to $3.60
ImJustFaking raises to $28.67, and is all in
69erman calls $13.11, and is all in
ImJustFaking shows [Kh Ks]
69erman shows [5d 6d]
Uncalled bet of $11.96 returned to ImJustFaking
*** TURN *** [5h 3s 5c] [Qh]
*** RIVER *** [5h 3s 5c Qh] [9s]
ImJustFaking shows two pair, Kings and Fives
69erman shows three of a kind, Fives
69erman wins the pot ($33.46) with three of a kind, Fives
